The Great Nelspruit Post Pub Crawl

Winter 2016

Be a part of Mbombela's greatest pub crawl

The Great Nelspruit Post Pub Crawl
Saturday June 18: 10:00-22:00

• Pub crawlers form teams or participate individually and visit 12 pubs in 12 hours. • On the day of the pub crawl, participants merely show up at the bar where they want to kick off their crawl.
• The Wednesday prior to the crawl, a map will be published in Nelspruit Post. Copies will also be available at the participating pubs. Each participant needs a map (a team uses only one map). They then obtain a stamp on the map from the barman at each pub when you buy a drink, alcoholic or not.
• Each hour will contain a mini happy hour, dubbed a “happy moment” – should they participate in this at any given pub they get an additional stamp.
• The next hour they visit a different pub and repeat the process. A total of 24 stamps can thus be collected throughout the day.
• The “happy moments” will be determined by Nelspruit Post’s team, to be at a different time each hour and for all pubs to have the moment at the same time. This will be communicated to barmen or managers by WhatsApp.
• Pubs can determine their own specials or promotions during the “happy moment”. • After visiting 11 pubs, all participant gather at a central pub, the 12th (still to be announced) for prize giving. Teams bring their stamped maps and the winners are determined: the most stamps and best spirit and outfits win prizes.
• The stamps will be counted by the Nelspruit Post team. First the teams who have visited all 12 pubs will be determined. The most “happy moments” experienced will determine the winner. Where there is a tie there will be a lucky draw.
• Other winners (dress and sprit etc will be determined by Nelspruit Post team who will be at the different pubs throughout the day.
There is no limit on how big or small a team can be, starting with a minimum of 1 person. There is no prior entry – simply show up with your map and start.
• Public transport will be available between the pubs for a fee. Participants will pay R10 a trip to get transported by taxi from one pub to the next.
• Entry is free, but participants’ drinks at pubs are for their own account. • All participants do so at their own risk.

The following pubs will form part of the official crawl:
