Hoax tip-off causes a stir at guest house

Following a tip-off from the public regarding illegal substances, drama erupted at Nels River Guest House & Spa on Monday afternoon when the police embarked on a search of the premises.

However, it produced nothing illegal, the police said.

The SAPS conducted a search of the guest house located on Cussons Street in West Acres, following a tip-off from the community.

When Nelspruit Post arrived, police were already inside the establishment. An hour later the five officers had failed to locate any of the alleged illegal substances.

The owners said they suspected that the false information had been supplied by someone who had a personal vendetta against the guesthouse.
